About The Founder

Barbara C. Smith, an attorney and seasoned human resources professional, founded Garfield Grace Worth Strategies with a desire to provide customized career and executive coaching services to a broad spectrum of clients.

Barbara’s coaching talents lie in her unique ability to show a client they are being heard while guiding them on their unique path to self-discovery. Her services are offered to transitioning professionals and as a 10 week course for middle and high school students and to everyone in between seeking guidance on the next step in their career journey.

Barbara received her primary and high school education in NYC public schools. She went on to study International Relations at the American University in Washington, D.C. where she earned a B.A. and later earned a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law in New York City. She spent 10 years practicing employment and labor law at Bear Stearns and then at The Port Authority of NY & NJ.

Later, she transitioned from practicing employment law into Human Resources in 2011 and eventually rose to the level of Director of Human Resources while balancing the challenges of a busy home life. Barbara lives in Brooklyn with her husband, children and nonagenarian mother.
